Zurich 1994 and 2000
One of the fascinating things about aviation is the way in which everything is constantly changing. So, you would expect to find that most of the aircraft featured in our 1994 Zurich video had either disappeared or moved on to other operators by now. But the idea that Swissair would be grounded just five months after filming our second video in 2001, would have seemed crazy at the time.
Airport Action Zurich has been digitally re-mastered from the original camera tapes and given a new commentary that provides details of the subsequent careers of some of the aircraft featured.
Zurich 2001 was originally a digital production and this has been transferred to DVD with the commentary unaltered. As a result, it’s a real ‘time capsule’ – taking you back to an era when Swissair was still one of the world’s major airlines.
Soviet airliners still flying for major carriers, including: Tarom IL18. TU 134s of Malev, CSA and Air Ukraine. Polish A.F., Tarom and Malev TU154s. Air Commerz and Avioimpex Yak 42s.
Swissair 747s, A310s and MD11s. Thai MD11s. Air Lanka and BWIA Tristars. Balair A310. Korean 747SP. Classic Air DC3. Tarom and Air Alfa BAC 1-11s. Arkia, Olympic, RAM and BA 737-200s and lots more.
