Our second collection of classic airliners has some wonderful big props and early jets from various locations worldwide.
Go back to the Isle of Man in the late fifties, with Viscounts, BEA, Cambrian and Silver City Dakotas, a Dan Air Ambassador and a Wayfarer, and plenty more in a brilliant reminder of long-gone airport action.
There’s some great footage of BOAC Comets, Britannias and VC10s in East Africa, shot airside by a BOAC engineer.
While an Indian Navy TU142 gets a new engine, there’s some IL18 and AN12 action at Sharjah.
Other features include Conair and LAI DC6s and Vertol 107s in New York.
A great flight on a Brooks Fuel DC4 to a remote Alaskan outpost is captured on the ramp and on the flightdeck.
Wonderful air to air shots with a RNZAF DC3.
An interesting collection of dedicated turboprop freighters is seen at Heathrow, plus a DC8F.
As ever, our attention to detail and painstaking restoration of both cine film and video make this DVD a classic airliner enthusiast’s delight.
Comments from our customers….
I have now received the wonderful Classic Airliner Collection No. 2. I have 25 videos in my collection of Avion Video. It gives me much pleasure. D.L.S.
Nice production, particularly impressed by the accuracy with which you’ve managed to match the sound-track to the cine film. You’d never know, the sounds are just right, and that’s saying something when you know exactly how each type should sound! R.V.
Thank you for these latest wonderful collections, bringing back the sights & sounds of yesteryear. It always amazes me how the authentic soundtrack matches exactly with the old silent cine film sequences. Just like being there again! K.R.
