Big Props Latin America covers the work of aviation journalist and photographer Ron Mak, and later on his brother Chris, recorded South American propliners in the 1980s.
Using the latest film and video restoration techniques, this video has some stunning images of big props at work in Venezuela, Guatemala, Nicaragua and especially Colombia.
The highlights of twenty years of propliner action have some superb C46s in both Nicaragua and Colombia, including a landing at an island airstrip. Villavicencio, Colombia had dozens of DC3s plus DC6s, C46s and AN32s and even a Catalina. Chris and Ron’s superb airside access brings it all to you in great close up action.
With thrilling rides on a DC3 and DC6, one-engined landings, a low-level beat up by a DC3 and one of the last operational Caravelles, Big Props Latin America is a must for any vintage airliner enthusiast.
